Owner and General Manager
Imad Qahwash started with a dream of playing professional basketball at
the age of 6. His love for basketball began during a visit to his local playgrounds and from that point he was not only hooked on the game but also understood the dedication required to be a successful basketball player. Imad is also the President of All-Canada Basketball Camps, which run throughout the year for basketball youth across Canada.
Imad was a very competitive player in high school as he moved up the ranks in the province of Ontario and ultimately the country of Canada. He was touted as the best point guard in the country coming out of Grand River Collegiate High school in Kitchener, Ontario. In his last two years of high school he helped the Grand River Renegades to its first state tournament birth in school history and also was also voted 4-time MVP and captain at GRCI and 3-time All-Region all-star.
A prolific scorer, Qahwash averaged 29.1 points a game in his senior year of high school. He went on and participated in the Adidas All-Canadian Camp and was named to the Ontario provincial team, where he won a Canadian Juvenile National Championship and solidified himself as one of the best point guards in his province and country. After many tournament MVP’s and first selection All-star appearances in the Kitchener-Waterloo region he was courted by many NCAA division one schools including some of the major conferences in college basketball. He also solidified his game on the AAU circuit as a player competing with one of the most competitive AAU teams in North America Grass Roots Canada. After committing to the University of Jacksonville (NCAA D1) in Jacksonville, Florida, he opted out and decided to land in Cincinnati, Ohio for a year of prep school, in which he played with 11 other major D1 prospects. He went on to win a National Prep Championship with Harmony Prepatory School and accepted a scholarship from the University of Central Arkansas (NCAA D1) in the Southland Conference.
During his first 2 collegiate years, Imad had to keep improving and stayed in the gym persevering to be the player he wanted to be. He gained confidence going overseas in the summer, traveling and playing against some other great players around the world. He played with the Jordanian National Team for 3 years and plans to keep doing it. He was fortunate enough to travel and see places he has never seen before. He was grateful for the opportunity, used it to get better and become a better leader and role model for friends and followers. Through hard work and perseverance he was able to overcome his challenges. This was spent during long hours in the gym and making the sacrifice of not seeing his family during the summer.
After receiving a scholarship to attend The University of Central Arkansas, Imad realized the benefits of getting his education. A dean’s list student, Mr. Qahwash has graduated with his Bachelors of Sciences (BSc) Degree in Health Sciences with emphasis in physical therapy. He had the experience of playing with other skilled players. Coached by former NCAA and NBA champion Corliss Williamson, Qahwash learned as much as he could from Coach Williamson and ultimately would be motivated to work harder to reach his goals. During his senior season, Qahwash almost doubled his point total and became one of the Southland Conference’s standout players. With this increased production, Imad earned him the mutual respect of his peers and his coaches to take the big step towards a career at professional basketball.
Throughout all his years, Imad experienced ups and downs that could have broken him down, but strongly thanks God for testing him. He persevered and showed hard work and dedication will pay off. In Imad’s words “I love everything God had me go through because all of it made me the Imad Qahwash I am today.”
